TASS Is Authorized to Declare... (Russian: ТАСС уполномочен заявить..., translit. TASS upolnomochen zayavit...) is a 1984 Soviet film directed by Vladimir Fokin based on a novel with the same name by Yulian Semyonov, also the author of Seventeen Moments of Spring. '17 Moments' star Vyacheslav Tikhonov played the central role of the KGB General in the film.
Runtime - 700 min (10 episodes total). Original film music score including the main theme was composed by Eduard Artemyev (synth. of rock and electronic music). Sound - Vladimir Prilensky.
A spy Trianon (Boris Klyuev) in Moscow is sending information to the CIA about the Soviet supplies to the fictional state of Nagonia. The KGB neutralizes him.
At the same time in Nagonia, Soviet agent Slavin (Yuri Solomin) discredits Glabb thus preventing the coup d'etat in a capital of Luisburg by Ogano against George Grisso, the president of Nagonia.
